# Yahoo Mail Email Forwarding Setup

## Overview

This guide will help you configure Yahoo Mail to forward emails to your ZappWay Email Inbox. The process involves setting up email forwarding and creating filters to ensure all messages are properly redirected to ZappWay for AI processing.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

* Active Yahoo Mail account
* Your ZappWay forwarding address (format: `inbox-xxxxx@mail.zappway.ai`)
* Access to Yahoo Mail settings
* Admin access if using Yahoo Business Email

## Step-by-Step Setup

### Step 1: Access Yahoo Mail Settings

1. Log in to your Yahoo Mail account at [mail.yahoo.com](https://mail.yahoo.com)
2. Click the **Settings icon** (gear icon ⚙️) in the top right corner
3. Select **"More Settings"** from the dropdown menu

### Step 2: Navigate to Forwarding Settings

1. In the left sidebar menu, click on **"Mailboxes"**
2. Select your email address from the list of mailboxes
3. Scroll down to find the **"Forwarding"** section

### Step 3: Add Forwarding Address

1. In the forwarding field, enter your ZappWay forwarding address:
   ```
   inbox-xxxxx@mail.zappway.ai
   ```
   *(Replace xxxxx with your actual inbox ID from ZappWay)*

2. Select **"Store and forward"** option
   * This keeps a copy in your Yahoo inbox while forwarding to ZappWay
   * Recommended for backup and audit purposes

3. Click the **"Verify"** button

### Step 4: Complete Verification

1. Yahoo will send a verification email to your ZappWay forwarding address
2. Log in to your ZappWay dashboard
3. Navigate to your Email Inbox
4. Open the verification email from Yahoo Mail
5. Click the verification link in the email
6. You may be redirected to Yahoo to confirm the verification

### Step 5: Enable Forwarding

1. Return to Yahoo Mail settings
2. Go back to **"Mailboxes"** → Your email → **"Forwarding"** section
3. Check the box for **"Enable automatic forwarding"**
4. Ensure **"Store and forward"** is still selected
5. Click the **"Save"** button at the bottom of the page

### Step 6: Create Email Filter (Optional but Recommended)

To ensure specific emails are forwarded, you can create filters:

1. In Yahoo Mail settings, click **"Filters"** in the left sidebar
2. Click **"Add new filters"**
3. Configure the filter:
   * **Filter name**: "Forward to ZappWay"
   * **From/To/Subject**: Configure based on your needs (or leave blank for all emails)
   * **Then move the message to**: Select "Forward to" and enter your ZappWay address
4. Click **"Save"**

### Step 7: Test Your Setup

1. From another email account, send a test email to your Yahoo Mail address:
   ```
   To: your-email@yahoo.com
   Subject: Test ZappWay Forwarding
   Body: This is a test email to verify forwarding is working correctly.
   ```

2. Wait 2-3 minutes for processing

3. Verify the following:
   * ✓ Email appears in your Yahoo inbox
   * ✓ Email is forwarded to ZappWay
   * ✓ AI processes and responds to the email
   * ✓ Response is sent from `your-alias@mail.zappway.ai`

## Troubleshooting

### Issue: Verification Email Not Received

**Solution:**

1. Wait 5-10 minutes (verification can be delayed)
2. Check your ZappWay inbox spam/junk folder
3. Try removing and re-adding the forwarding address
4. Ensure the forwarding address is typed correctly

### Issue: Forwarding Not Working

**Solution:**

1. Verify that "Enable automatic forwarding" is checked
2. Check that the forwarding address is correct
3. Try disabling and re-enabling forwarding
4. Clear your browser cache and try again
5. Check Yahoo Mail service status

### Issue: Verification Link Expired

**Solution:**

1. Return to Yahoo Mail forwarding settings
2. Remove the forwarding address
3. Wait 2-3 minutes
4. Add the forwarding address again
5. Complete verification promptly (within 24 hours)

### Issue: Emails Going to Yahoo Spam

**Solution:**

1. Check your Yahoo spam folder for forwarded emails
2. Mark ZappWay emails as "Not Spam"
3. Add `@mail.zappway.ai` to your Yahoo contacts
4. Create a filter to always forward specific emails

### Issue: Delays in Forwarding

**Solution:**

* Yahoo Mail forwarding can take 2-5 minutes
* This is normal behavior
* If delays exceed 10 minutes, check Yahoo Mail status
* Verify forwarding is still enabled

## Important Notes

* **Forwarding Limits**: Yahoo may have forwarding limits on free accounts
* **Business Accounts**: Yahoo Business Email may have different settings
* **Security**: Yahoo may disable forwarding if suspicious activity is detected
* **Copies**: "Store and forward" keeps emails in Yahoo for your records
* **Verification**: Must be completed within 24 hours of adding forwarding address

1. **Keep Copies**: Always use "Store and forward" to maintain email backup
2. **Test Regularly**: Send test emails weekly to ensure forwarding is working
